WWF, the world conservation organization, is seeking a full time candidate to coordinate the implementation of the WWF Chile’s Environmental Governance Strategy.
 
WWF, the world conservation organization, works in Chile to conserve terrestrial and marine biodiversity, as well as to reduce Chile’s ecological footprint. These are major challenges that require a social equity approach and contribute to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG).
 
Good environmental governance has been identified by WWF as one of the key drivers on this agenda at landscape, national and global level. To help generate solutions in collaboration/ including local/indigenous communities, governments, companies and other social organizations should be part of this process; WWF Chile is seeking an Environmental Governance Program Officer to lead this work within the Conservation team. Under the supervision of the Conservation Director, the Environmental Governance Program Officer will have as main objectives: the contribution to the objectives of WWF Chile by coordinating the implementation of its objectives and outcomes related to governance strategies in terrestrial and marine landscapes and; to promote and ensure compliance with WWF International's Social Policies in WWF Chile's office and in coordination with other offices in Latin America and globally.
 
The position will be based in Valdivia. Minimum requirements include a bachelor degree in social or related area, and at least 5 years of proven of experience in formulating, coordinating and managing projects in the area of environmental governance and social aspects of landscape conservation and management of natural resources involving multiple actors, preferably in Chile. The candidate should have demonstrated success in managing multi-disciplinary teams. Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and Spanish are also required.  
 
Availability: Immediate.
 
Salary: According to the relating experience.
